Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common structural birth defect, affecting approximately 1% of newborns. Treatment typically involves surgery, which requires specialized infrastructure, a skilled team, and substantial resources. However, there is significant global disparity in access to specialized cardiac services.

This webinar will highlight the remarkable charitable work carried out in the Fiji archipelago, concluding in the establishment of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital in Suva. Visiting experts from the National University Hospital, Singapore, will share their experiences from three consecutive missions, including real case histories.

The session will conclude by emphasizing the global burden of CHD and the importance of humanitarian efforts to improve equitable access to treatment. The success of congenital cardiac surgery relies heavily on meticulous teamwork, surgical expertise, and effective myocardial preservation.

We look forward to your participation!
