Are all Benzodiazepenes equal?
In his presentation Dr. Weiß presents the data of a retrospective cohort study in 3314 critical ill patients sedated either with Midazolam or intravenous Lormetazepam. Midazolam is one of the most frequently used sedatives in intensive care but shows undesired side effects specifically when applied continuously. Goal of the retrospective study was to invest if intravenous Lormetazepam due to its distinct pharmacological features shows clinical advantages compared to Midazolam.
